Kottenrock Festival

Kottenrock e.V. was founded in 2019 by seven members. The non-profit association aims to promote the alternative cultural diversity of the town of Sassenberg and the surrounding area. Currently, 13 members carry out the association's work. One of the association's highlights is the Kottenrock Festival, which is now held on the first Saturday in September and is a small but very fine event. Between three and six bands transform Hof Hülsmann at Hilgenbrink 5 in the tranquil town of Sassenberg into a Mecca for friends of cultivated rock/punk/metalcore/modern metal music. The first time on 31.8.2019 started with four bands and 300 visitors. In the two Corona years 2020 and 2021, everything had to be kept a bit smaller with 100-150 visitors and therefore even called itself self-ironically "Kottenröckchen" in 2020. Since 2022, the Kottenrock has been running at "normal speed" again with 5 bands and about 300-350 spectators.
